Church Street in 1936

Church Street is a short stretch of road running from Mulcaster Street between the front entrance of the States Buildings and the Town Church. At its junction with Vine Street it becomes Library Place until the junction with Broad Street. The advertisements on this page and the almanac listings show what a diverse range of businesses traded from here in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

There were two public houses in 1874, but these do not appear in the almanac street directory six years later
