Record Search

If you want to search for records for any name in this family tree, or for any other family name, just click below on the first letter of the family name you are interested in. This will open a new tab in your browser giving you a list of family names beginning with that letter, for which there are baptism records in our database of half a million church and public registry records.

You can also select marriages or burials. Select the name you want and when the list of records is displayed you can easily refine the search, choosing a single parish, given name(s) and/or start and end dates.

The records are displayed 30 to a page, but by selecting the yellow Wiki Table option at the top left of the page you can open a full, scrollable list. This list will either be displayed in a new tab or a pop-up window. You may have to edit the settings of your browser to allow pop-up windows for For the small number of family names for which a search generates more than 1,500 records you will have to refine your search (perhaps using start or end dates) to reduce the number of records found.

Notes and references

  1. Merchant and Shipowner at St Aubin. Constable of St Brelade, 1758-1769; Lieutenant-Colonel in the Militia, 1760. The only Edouard born in St Peter within a plausible time of this marriage was baptised in St Peter in 1704, the son of Nicolas and his wife, Jeanne de Carteret Pipon. This agrees entirely with the findings of the respected Jersey genealogist, the Rev J A Messervy: ABSJ, VI, 253
  2. Merchant and shipowner at St Aubin; owner of two ships, in 1782-1785 lists. Constable of St Brelade, 1779-1782, Colonel in the Militia
  3. Of St Aubin, Merchant and Jurat
  4. Seigneur of Diélament
  5. MA, Rector of St Clement, 1777-1787; of St Brelade, 1788-1818; of St Martin, 1818-1829; Vice-Dean. The marriage entry has not been located but is supported by Remon godparents in 1790, St Brelade, and by J B Payne An Armorial of Jersey, 44
  6. Merchant and shipowner at St Aubin; owner of three ships, in 1790-1792 lists, one, at least, of which was in the Newfoundland trade: J Jean, Jersey Sailing Ships, (Chichester: Phillimore and Co., 1982), 61-74 (lists), 48. Constable of St Brelade, 1800-1809; 1814-1817. Perhaps in his youth, the Master of this name, in 1778, of the 160 ton, 6 gun, Jersey brig Triton. Messervy thought he was the Jacques who was a Major, Jersey Militia Artillery, which seems most likely
