ABSJ VIII, 42, mentions that in February 1641 Amice de Carteret, Seigneur of Trinity, sold to Noe de Grochie, son of Robin, Grand Clos de la Lande, for 20 cabots of wheat per annum and 4 pots of butter, facon de la maison dudit de Grochie. A small boat he moored there during the summer was taken by the French in 1737, in order to board George Le Seelleur`s vessel anchored nearby. Jean was called as a witness in the ensuing investigation, giving his age as 29

In Jersey law, the principal heir to the real estate of a deceased person was their senior relative and should they have died before the deceased, their own senior surviving relative inherited the principal share.
