Old Jersey Houses

There are two adjacent houses of this name above Quetivel Mill.

The more easterly house has been much altered, but there are signs that there was a tourelle and sundry clues point to an original 17th century date. The dower wing is a later addition, perhaps of about 1870, when it is likely that the round-topped dormers were added

Notes and references

  1. This is an unusual example of a house still bearing exactly the same name as the road on which it is located. Not unique, though, because there is a La Ruette on La Ruette in St Ouen
  2. This stone was possibly from Mon Plaisir, St Lawrence and is now over the main door on the east wing
