World War II

During World War II a number of other periodicals were established for the occupied, exiles, servicemen and prisoners-of-war.

  • Guernsey Underground News Service (GUNS) - to distribute news from BBC in the island after radios were confiscated during German Occupation
  • CI Monthly Review - produced by the Stockport Channel Islands Society to exiles and servicemen
  • The Bird Cage - produced by internees of Laufen camp, Germany
