Descendants of George Clement Le Feuvre

This newspaper advertisement from the Jersey Independent in 1857 says that Mr G C Le Feuvre, cabinet maker and upholsterer, was preparing to leave for New Zealand. This was the George Clement Le Feuvre in this tree. His last child, Louisa Agnes, was not born until 1858 and his will was made in January 1884, with a codicil added in July 1893. The will was registered in Jersey in November 1893. His wife's will was dated November 1904, with a codicil added in 1908. The will was registered in Jersey in 1911. This suggests that they either did not go to New Zealand, or emigrated and then returned to Jersey. Census returns suggest that the family did leave Jersey. There is no sign of them in the 1861 census, but by 1871 George Clement, wife Mary, sons George and James are shown living at 4 Edward Place, St Helier. George is shown as a cabinet maker. The family are again recorded at 4 Edward Place in the 1881 and 1891 censuses, with George chown as a retired cabinet maker. The same address is given on his will.

Record Search

If you want to search for records for any name in this family tree, or for any other family name, just click below on the first letter of the family name you are interested in. This will open a new tab in your browser giving you a list of family names beginning with that letter, for which there are baptism records in our database of half a million church and public registry records.

You can also select marriages or burials. Select the name you want and when the list of records is displayed you can easily refine the search, choosing a single parish, given name(s) and/or start and end dates.

The records are displayed 30 to a page, but by selecting the yellow Wiki Table option at the top left of the page you can open a full, scrollable list. This list will either be displayed in a new tab or a pop-up window. You may have to edit the settings of your browser to allow pop-up windows for For the small number of family names for which a search generates more than 1,500 records you will have to refine your search (perhaps using start or end dates) to reduce the number of records found.
