- ↑ Marion Turk, in The Quiet Adventurers in North America, (Detroit: Harlo, 1983), 488-489, writes that William Heath Patriarche was born at The Grove, [St Lawrence], Jersey. This is, in part, correct. His family had become indebted during the building of a large new, three-storied, house on the site of "Le Grove". As a result, they sold in 1840 the property and its farmland to a third party, who sold it in 1841 to Abraham de Gruchy who completed it, as shown in his Will. William Heath Patriarche migrated with his parents to Ontario, Canada and, in his case, on to the United States of America, dying in Cincinatti.
