Dutch Interior, 1848, by Egidius Linnig (1821-1860). Part of the Town Hall collection. From the 19th century Dutch School. A Dutch cottage interior where a baby girl is seated on a table illuminated by light coming through the window. She is surrounded by her parents and elder brother. Linnig was born in Belgium in 1821. He travelled to Holland and Norway with his brother Willem, whose work is also on display here. They were both regular participants in art exhibitions in Belgium and abroad. (Sophie Gorman, 2009)
