La fete Nouormande, a celebration of the Normandy language and culture, was held between 1998 and 2014, the venue alternating every three years between different towns in Normandy, Guernsey and Jersey. Although there are various fetes Normandes in Normandy, the fete Nouormande appears to have been discontinued

The biggest festival of Norman language and culture comes back to Jersey - traditional dancing, singing, stalls, food and drink. Performers from Jersey, Guernsey and mainland Normandy. Fun for all the family! This week - L’s exhibitions et les mouontréthies

  • Display - at La Maison de la Normandie, Halkett Place
  • Books in Norman from the Islands and the mainland - at the Lord Coutanche Library, Société Jersiaise, Pier Road

Monday 19 May

  • 5.30pm - Launch of English Jèrriais-Dictionary by the Bailiff of Jersey at the Société Jersiaise

Tuesday 20 May

  • Daytime in Town - Jèrriais poetry
  • 5.30pm - Doque in Parade Gardens : we will be playing a traditional Jersey game of doque - like pétanque with pebbles. Try your hand or come to watch!

Wednesday 21 May

  • Daytime in Town Jèrriais poetry
  • 6pm - Story time : A selection of Jersey stories and poems. Drop in and discover some aspects of Jersey's literary culture. Maison de la Normandie, Halkett Place - free entry.

Thursday 22 May

  • 5pm - Dancing in the street : traditional Norman dances in the heart of St. Helier. Dans La Rueès Français - In Hilgrove Street

Friday 23 May

  • 4.30pm - Town Parade : Costumes and flags, starting from Wests Centre.
  • 8pm - Vikings and Norman language : a talk by Professor Jean Renaud at La Société Jersiaise.

Saturday 24 May

  • 11am - 4.30pm - Eune Grande Journée d’Fête
  • Day-long Fête at the Royal Jersey showground in Trinity: songs, dances, poetry, storytelling, food and drink, Norman market, traditional costumes, bookstall and games - plus all the fun of La Foire de Jersey. Tickets: £5 (concessions available)

Sunday 25 May

  • 9.30am - Jèrriais service at Trinity Church
  • 11.15am - Prom'nade dgidée
  • 2pm - 4.30pm - Eune Grande Journée d’Fête
  • Afternoon-long Fête at the Royal Jersey showground in Trinity.

Monday 26 May

  • 11am - 4.30pm - Eune Grande Journée d’Fête
  • Day-long Fête at the Royal Jersey showground in Trinity.

Tuesday 27 May

  • 1pm - 1.45pm - Lunchtime learning fun and games at the Jersey Arts Centre

Wednesday 28 May

  • 1pm - 1.45pm - Lunchtime learning fun and games at the Jersey Arts Centre
