A fine example of an 18th century townhouse, altered 19th and 20th centuries, retaining exceptionally good original interior features including mid-18th century staircase, plank panelling, beams and panelled doors, together with original exterior form, fabric and roof and front door.

Shown on the Richmond Map of 1795.

Located to rear of buildings fronting the street. Two storeys plus attic, irregular five bays. Old pantile roof with brick end stacks.

Old Jersey Houses

A yard in front of this house is shared by it, by another house on the roadside, and by a very small cottage alongside.High above the ground level is a surprisingly large and sheltered garden.

This appears to be the house which belonged to Philippe de Carteret in 1785 and was sold by Amice de Carteret, son of Jean, to Jean Le Bas, son of Philippe, in 1813
