Rock climbing

In the 1930s Joe Le Moignan (sometimes known as Jack), of St John, was a renowned rock climber in Jersey. His exploits on the dangerous cliffs at Plemont, and elsewhere on the island's north coast, gained widespread publicity, and he was featured in an article in the Daily Mirror as 'the Jersey Rock Climber', as well as in a 1930s Chamber of Commerce tourist guide.

Unfortunately we have been able to discover little else about the 'nimble footed' Mr Le Moignan, other than that it appears that he was prepared to act as guide to visitors to the island wishing to pursue their love of rock climbing on the cliffs of the north coast.
