Among those who died in horrific circumstances during the Great War was Jerseyman Lieutenant Frederick Stevenson, who rose through the ranks to obtain a commission and was killed in a raid on an enemy position - these were the medals he won during his service

They tell the stories of a number of Jerseymen and Jerseywomen who were distinguished by their bravery during the war. Some survived to recount their own experiences, others perished in the conflict and never saw their native island again
