Tony Jacklin winning the Open Championship in 1969

Tony Jacklin, born in Scunthorpe in 1944, won the Open Championship in 1969 and the US Open the following year.

For a number of years during the 1970s he lived in Jersey, before moving to South Africa.

He was captain of the Europe Ryder Cup team on four occasions, winning twice and tying once.
