Descendants of Richard Dolbel



This tree was added to the site in 2011 and expanded in 2014. It was further reviewed in 2018 and 2025,by Mike Bisson Details of marriages for which records could be found have been added. It should be noted that this family lived largely in St John, for which full records were still somewhat sketchy at the time of the review. While we are confident in the main descendants line, not all siblings have been fully substantiated. We also believe that there is a substantial number of family members who have yet to be positioned in this tree.

Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records.   5. ↑ Michel`s godparents were Michel Poingdestre and Elizabeth, nee Dumaresq, who married in 1659. Michel Poingdestre was the maternal first cousin of the child`s father, Guillaume Dolbel. Guillaume Dolbel, son of Jean, son of Richard, married Jeanne de Quetteville, and not his contemporary and namesake, Guillaume Dolbel, son of Jean, son of Pierre, as previously thought
  6. ↑ Jean Dolbel was one of the Sermentés in St John for the Extente of 1668
  7. ↑ Esther Hamon`s husband was Jean Dolbel, son of Jean. It was not uncommon in Jersey in the early 17th century to have two siblings of the same name, as mentioned below. It is therefore possible that her husband was Jean Dolbel son of Jean (1619- ), marrying in his mid-forties, especially as he seems to have inherited, instead of Guillaume, his brother
