Our database now includes buttons enabling a search within registers of Roman Catholic, Methodist and other non-conformist churches. These records will automatically appear within the results of any search made from this page.

Origin of Surname
The name, although very similar to Perrée, is thought to have a somewhat different derivation, the source being the ancient French for carrier. It could also be used for someone who engraved or sold stone and was a name for a quarry.
Further suggestions are that it is linked to a place name in Normandy, or referred to someone who lived by a pear tree.
It is a common name in Normandy although there are no records there of the name in medieval times.
