St Ouen's Bay
1970s planners' photographs

In the 1970s St Ouen's Bay, which runs the full length of Jersey's west coast, was a dump - literally! These photographs were taken by planning officers during the decade, the majority in 1970. They show what a mess many areas of the bay were in - abandoned vehicles and boats; building materials; dumped rubbish; night clubs and other buildings with faded signs; ugly fences; gates leading nowhere
